(More customer reviews)The Nokia N8 itself is a pretty slick device. It has beautiful hardware but the phone is physically slippery. I have been fortunate that I had only ever dropped it indoors (this was within the first month of owning it).
Initially I had the OtterBox Impact Case for Nokia N8. It was on my phone for about 3 months and does its job well (dropped my phone on the pavement once and not a scratch anywhere). The Otterbox is a great product but the big drawback to it is the girth that it adds to the phone. The phone literally doubles in size!
The N8's unibody design is made of aluminum. If you were to drop this phone (and I know several that have) you might nick the unibody but you will not break it. Considering this I think the Otterbox case may be a little overkill. At least it was for me. The Nokia Silicone Cover adds protection against those nicks (should you drop the phone) and grip (so you don't drop the phone). When it is on the phone there is very little added girth (barely noticeable). I gave this 5 stars because it provides the minimal protection this phone needs while adding grip and very little to the size of the device. It is a much more balanced cover than the OtterBox and is a must buy for any N8 owner!
